13 Boreraig

By Glendale, Isle of Skye, IV55 8ZY

Our whitewashed stone croft cottage was built around 1910, and is located in an active crofting community at the north end of Boreraig, home of the MacCrimmon piping clan. It has been converted to retain character, with beams and an original fireplace, yet with stylish mod-cons.

The cottage comprises an open plan ground floor living area with exposed stone walls, a traditional tongue and grooved wood lined bedroom with a double bed for two, a further traditional bedroom with the original box beds sleeping two adults and a small child, a north extension for the entrance porch and a south extension for the bathroom, WC and water heater cupboard. We have a Freesat TV and DVD player, an electric cooker, microwave, washer-dryer and Wi-fi. There are gorgeous views of Loch Dunvegan, the MacLeod Tables and the Cuillin Hills - Skye's awesome mountain range - beyond.

Our friends love to visit historic Dunvegan Castle (9 miles) and Portree (22 miles) with its shops, restaurants and visitor centre, or simply relax in our pretty garden shielded from the road and neighbouring croft by sea-holly, rose and fuchsia hedges. There are endless winding lanes and coastal roads to explore, wonderful walks, the nearby Coral Beaches and of course phenomenal climbing. The award winning Three Chimneys Restaurant is 3 miles away; shop and café 4 miles, pub 12 miles.
